Elizabeth Stenbakken joined the Inglewood staff in Fall 2013. After being a stay-at-home mom, Elizabeth went back to school to become the first in her family to graduate from a university. In 2009, graduated magna cum laude with honors from California State University of Dominguez Hills. She was also inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi in 2009.

Elizabeth embraces her new career with passion and brings her life experiences into her lesson plans. She infuses a constructivist educational approach to learning and believes in developing the “whole child” through education. Now that her children are grown, Elizabeth lives with her German Shepherd, Maggie and tortoise, Shelby. She enjoys traveling in and out of the United States. Her recent adventures have taken her to Costa Rica, Panama, and Puerto Rico where she immersed herself in culture, food, and natural surroundings. It is her desire to bring her travel experiences to her students to teach diversity and to build a desire to protect our earth.

In her free time, Elizabeth loves to cook and entertain for her family and friends. She can be found attending community events and concerts. She loves to paint and draw, and listens to all forms of music. She also likes to garden and has a love for tomatoes. Her philosophy for life is to love, laugh, and to enjoy life to its fullest.
